I am a graduate of Michigan State University’s College of Education and certified to teach kindergarten through fifth grade in all content areas. With the desire to provide all students with an excellent education and a passion for learning and teaching, I am confident in my ability to be a valuable asset to your district.
As a graduate of Michigan State University’s five year teacher preparation program, I have had the opportunity to acquire extensive experience and knowledge of teaching and learning. I have become proficient at designing creative and stimulating lesson plans, which accommodate multiple intelligences, bring a hands-on approach to learning, and keep students interested and focused. Throughout my full-year teaching internship, I was actively involved in student’s educational development. I planned and taught standard-based lessons in all content areas and incorporated innovative teaching strategies to meet each individual student’s needs. Along with this, I performed all teaching responsibilities including professional development, classroom management, parent communication and participating in a number of extracurricular activities.
My greatest strengths as an educator are inspiring and motivating students. I have a strong desire to educate young minds and help them grow into well-rounded, responsible and successful individuals. My goal as an educator is to give students the opportunity to be successful in and outside of the classroom. I actively engage their minds by incorporating a variety of manipulatives, enjoyable activities, and cooperative learning projects. In addition, I create lessons to meet their diverse interests, as well as demonstrate direct connections between the classroom and everyday life.
In addition to my student teaching internship in a 5th grade classroom, I have experience teaching in 3rd and 4th grade classrooms while working in urban, suburban and rural settings. I am confident in my ability to establish a foundation for meaningful learning and feel that my education and experiences would make me a valuable member of your educational team.
