About Me

My name is Taylor Raymond. I am currently a student teacher in 5th grade and a graduate student in the Elementary Education program at Michigan State. I have a Bachelors Degree in Education with a teaching concentration in Social Studies. I am an upbeat, energetic, young woman with a passion for teaching and learning. I have volunteered in a daycare, assisted in a special education classroom, spent several years being a Youth, Middle School, and High School Cheerleading Coach, student taught in elementary classrooms and have been a member of the Champion Cheerleading Camp staff. Over the years I have discovered my true love for teaching and working with children.

It is hard to believe that soon from now I will be fulfilling my dream of teaching in my own classroom. I have known that I wanted to be a teacher all of my life. In my childhood, I spent holidays teaching my cousins what I had last learned in school and assigning them homework.  In high school, I was a volunteer youth cheerleading coach and worked in our school daycare during the day. In my senior year, I was blessed to assist Mrs. Roth, a teacher in a 4-8 year old special ed classroom specializing in Autism and Cerebral Palsy. My experiences there changed my life forever. I was inspired by the will and strength of the students in the class and knew then that this was my life destiny. Since then, I have set out on a life-long goal to make the difference Mrs. Roth had on these students.

I wake up each morning with the intention to live each day to its fullest. In my free time, I enjoy working out, reading a good book series and watching the latest NCAA or Pro Sporting Event. I have been skydiving in Michigan, parasailing in the Caribbean, jet-skiing in Key West and snorkeling in Mexico. I am willing to try anything, within reason, and hope that this love for life will influence my future teaching.
